The message at the heart of Christianity is really quite simple. It’s a message from the Bible about God and His Son, Jesus. It’s about life and death, and the choice that we all face.
God is righteous and created man and the world to submit to His loving rule.
“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” — Revelation 4:11
But is that the way it is now?
We are all eternally separated from God by sinfully rejecting His loving rule and trying to run our lives our own way without Him.
“...but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.” — Isaiah 59:2
God’s justice sounds hard, but…
Because of His love, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to take our punishment. Through Christ’s death and resurrection, we can now have a relationship with our Creator God.
“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God.” — 1 Peter 3:18
Well, where does that leave us?
“They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.” — 2 Thessalonians 1:9
“...because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him up from the dead, you will be saved” — Romans 10:9
Pray for God to change me so that I may:
Dear God, I am unworthy and don’t deserve Your gift of eternal life. I am guilty of rebelling against You and ignoring You. I need forgiveness. Thank You for sending Your Son to die for me that I may be forgiven. Thank You that He rose from the dead to give me new life. Please forgive me and change me, that I may live with Jesus as my ruler. Amen.
