Authenticity is vital in the life of the church, yet it is not the goal in itself, it is simply a means that God uses for the ends of our salvation from the power of sin—our sanctification. Because of God's grace, we can and must be transparent, open, and real with our sins and weaknesses with the people in our lives. We can't stop there, however, God's grace through our authenticity empowers us to grow in holiness as people encourage us and keep us accountable.
