GrayBeards prayer group

Mature men of Faith: Do you feel called to honor Christ’s calling for us to “still bear fruit in old age” (Psalm 92:15)? Have you considered what direction that the church, our city, our nation and families will take when we are gone?

As the Psalmist describes in Psalm 92:13-14, we have been planted in the house of the Lord and are ever full of sap and green. Let us work and pray that we remain healthy, fruitful branches full of sap for Christ who is the vine (John 15:1-11); we do this so that new and healthy branches will continue to grow and abide in Christ behind us.

As elder men of the church (GrayBeards) we ask you join us in taking 2-5 minutes out of your week to pray over issues, events, and people that will outlive us.

What are the requirements?

  1. GrayBeard – We humbly joke those older men that have a gray beard, are capable of growing a grey beard or of the age would usually be considered time to have a grey beard – i.e., The Back 9 of life.
  2. As Titus 2:2 tells us, be “sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness.”
  3. A willingness to receive a text once a week.
  4. A willingness to spend 2-5 minutes (or more if you wish) in prayer based on a weekly prayer prompt.
  5. Meet once or twice a year (if you can or desire) for a fellowship gathering (likely good old-fashioned barbecue) to discuss what we’ve asked God for and how He has responded.

Note: During Week 1 and 2 we will pray once a day for 5 days, and then once a week thereafter.
