Luke 18:9-14
00:00 00:00

We are often tempted like the pharisees to trust in our own righteousness and treat others with contempt. But this passage shows us that right standing before God is given to those who humbly come to God as sinners in need of mercy. And when we understand this, we will then treat others with mercy and compassion.

Questions to ask your students:

  • What gives you your identity?
    • Your performance compared with others or God and His mercy?
  • How does viewing yourself as a sinner in need of mercy change the way you treat others?
