The Next Generation Facility initiative is one way we’re working to be a loving community making disciples of Jesus. We thank God for all those who have given and prayed for this project. As we approach the halfway point in the three-year capital campaign, there’s a lot to be thankful for. Members who are skilled in architecture and construction are collaborating to make the most of the resources God has given.
There has been a delay in the sale of the east-side property, the proceeds of which are designated toward the campaign. The land had to be evaluated for environmental contamination.
The minor bad news is that some cleanup is needed. The major good news is that the needed cleanup isn’t nearly as extensive as it could have been. Options are being considered so we can prepare the land for sale while also moving forward with the next campaign project, Children’s Wing restrooms and women’s restroom updates.
The elders are also working on the general budget for Fiscal Year 2025-26, which begins September 1. Giving for 2024-25 is on pace to be 2-3% less than budgeted, which will also have an impact on planning for the next budget.
As the chart shows, the number of giving units—households that give to the church anytime within a given month—has gone down overall during the past two years. If you’re a member and you haven’t set a regular giving schedule, pray about doing so, even if the amount you can give seems small. God doesn’t need our gifts but loves a cheerful giver!
Please keep praying for the capital campaign and for the elders to make wise decisions in all these matters. May we glorify God with all He has given us!
A loving community making disciples of Jesus Christ.
