Main idea: Sing for joy – the Father has crushed the Son so that we could be His children. Jesus took all our sin – the pain, the sorrow, the sickness, the grief, the death, the sin itself, and the guilt… (...
There’s something about that transition from summer to fall. The weather slowly starts to change course, we find ourselves squeezing in those last-minute summer activities, and we begin to prepare our kids (and ourselves!) for another school year.
Now is a good opportunity to be thinking about what’s next. How does God want to use you? To grow you? The Women’s Ministry team has some exciting studies and opportunities coming up that we are wanting to share with all of the ladies at Faith Bible Church! Here is a look at what you can expect this fall:
Two studies are being offered at the church on Wednesday mornings this year. Adam’s Queen is a topical Bible study where all the Scripture texts that are directed specifically toward women will be explored. Moving from God’s original plan at creation to the effects of sin in the world, we discover God’s plan for women at all stages of life. This study covers many different facets of womanhood: God’s purpose in creating women, marriage, work, serving in the church, and so much more. Adam’s Queen begins October 5 and will run through April 19, 9:00 to 11:00 am.
The other Wednesday morning study will go through the book of Romans. This study will help us explore a rich and deeply foundational piece of Scripture. We will read through Romans verse by verse, utilizing scripture memorization, discussion questions, and homiletics in order to better understand and apply God’s Word to our everyday lives. Romans will begin October 5 and run through March 8, 9:00 to 11:00 am.
In-home options this fall include a study of the book The Truth War by John MacArthur. This book discusses the flaws of postmodern thinking, the effects of past truth conflicts on the church, and how to identify and address errors and false teaching. Teri Gardner will be hosting this study in her home Monday evenings, October 10 through December 12. Living With Hope, a study on 1 and 2 Peter, is fitting for a world filled with uncertainty and anxiousness about the unknown. This study will be at Angie Collins’ home Tuesday mornings starting October 4.
We are also excited to be hosting a women’s Thrive Morning at the church Saturday, October 15, from 9:00 to noon. Join us for breakfast, learning and encouragement. We’ll discuss what it means to “meet in the middle” and come alongside one another in different seasons of life. We’ll also talk about what that looks like practically in our day-to-day lives. With teaching from God’s Word, opportunities for discussion and questions, and lots of fellowship, this will be a sweet time for the ladies of Faith Bible Church.
More information about all of these studies and events, as well as registration, can be found at fbchurch.org/events. With many options for equipping and fellowship, we are excited to help the women of Faith Bible Church to get plugged in and to “grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). As summer winds down, the Women’s Ministry leadership team is looking forward to all that is coming up at Faith and we hope you are too!
