While the Bible may not provide a red pin that tells you ‘You’ve Arrived’ when you get to where you’re going, we can confidently handle God’s word and successfully arrive at a proper meaning. We can do this when we handle God’s word how it was meant to be handled – as His Word, written at a particular time, to a particular people, in a particular context, for particular purposes, surrounding particular events. And yet, even with these particulars, the truths which God’s word communicates about himself, his creation, man, and eternal life are eternal and timeless.
