Before my birth the Son was chosen to be the one to set me free.
While I was lost and surely hellbound, the perfect Son would die for me.
O praise the Father, how he welcomes all His children He will save.
Praise the Lord who condescended, took on flesh and made a way.
There on the cross the Christ was broken, and in a tomb His body lay,
But on the third He claimed the victory o’er sin and death and now he reigns.
O hallelujah, what a Savior! Jesus died so I could live.
And now by faith I do receive Him, for He is mine and I am His.
A day will come when all will see Him: the Lamb who died and took our sin.
The God who saved us and sustained us will complete what He began.
O Holy Spirit give us power to fulfill what Christ commands.
Until heaven finally calls us, give us grace and strength to stand.
