Main idea: Forgiveness comes to those who repent and believe in Christ

Luke 24:47 and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 

Believe and Proclaim boldly…

1. God’s promise to forgive sinners (Luke 3:1-6)

• God’s fulfillment comes even in the bleakest times (1-2)
• God’s fulfillment comes to humble and repentant (3-6)

2. Personal Repentance (Luke 3:7-14)

• Ritual doesn’t save; repentance does (7)
• Heritage doesn’t save; repentance does (8-9)
• Repentance bears fruit (10-14)
  • The stingy become generous
  • The corrupt become honest
  • The powerful become content

3. Faith in Christ (Luke 3:15-20)

• Christ the mighty
• Christ the most exalted King
• Christ the Spirit Baptizer
• Christ the Savior
• Christ the Judge
