Two ways the Spirit of God is making ready a people prepared for Christ’s coming

1. The Spirit of God is converting

Converting worship

“turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God” (1:16)

  2 Corinthians 3:16-18, 1 Thessalonians 1:9-10, 1 Peter 2:25

Converting Family Affections

“turn the hearts of the fathers to the children” (1:17)

  Luke 1:76; Ephesians 6:1-4

Converting lifestyle

“turn the disobedient to the wisdom of the just” (1:17)

  Luke 3:7-8; Ephesians 4:1-2

2. The Spirit of God is confirming (Luke 1:57-66)

Confirming promises of mercy

“The Lord had shown great mercy” (1:58)

Confirming promises of grace

  “His name is John” (1:63)

Confirming promises of power

“the hand of the Lord is with him” (Luke 1:66)

1. Have you been converted?

  • Where is God transforming your worship?
  • Where is God transforming you as a spouse and parent?
  • Where is God transforming your lifestyle?

2. Are you rejoicing?
