Main Idea: Imitating Jesus’ unparalleled humility will bring unparalleled unity in our mission together

1. Jesus did not exploit his supreme position

2. Jesus took the basest position 

3. Jesus was obedient even to the most humiliating death

4. God highly exalted Jesus

5. God bestowed the supreme name

6. All will bow and confess him as Lord  

Implications:

• Take in the unfathomable blessings that come from Christ’s service.
• What areas are you bowing to Jesus Lordship? What areas are you not?
• Whose interests are hard to serve and how does Jesus’ example help?

Dr. Dan Jarms is teaching pastor and team leader at Faith Bible Church in Spokane Washington, as well as associate dean at TMS Spokane. He has been married for over 30 years to Linda, and has three adult children. He earned his B.A. in English at the Master’s College, B.Ed. at Eastern Washington University, M.Div and D.Min in Expository Preaching at The Master’s Seminary.
