Central Theme: Four unique and unparalleled blessings of the Lord’s day gathering

1. The Lord’s day gathering is the earthly manifestation of God’s heavenly purpose.

  • 1 Peter 2:9-10
  • Hebrews 12:22-28

2. The Lord’s day gathering forges the unity of the community under Christ.

  • The whole community hears the same message (Acts 2:42)
  • The whole community unites its voice in praise (Acts 2:46-47)
  • The whole community unites its voice in prayer (Acts 4:23)
  • The whole community tackles challenges and opportunities (Acts 6)
  • The whole community rallies in crisis (Acts 12:5)
  • The whole community is discipled in worship (Acts 2:42, 1 Timothy 4:13)

3. The Lord’s day gathering brings the fullest conviction of the gospel for non-Christians

  • Non-Christians see self-less love (John 13:35)
  • Non-Christians see supernatural unity (John 17:21)
  • Non-Christians see an undeniable testimony of the truth and power of the gospel (1 Corinthians 14:23-25, Acts 2:46-47)

4. The Lord’s day gathering every individual the fullest view of Christ and his calling.

Dan Jarms

Dr. Dan Jarms is teaching pastor and team leader at Faith Bible Church in Spokane Washington, as well as associate dean at The Master's Seminary in Spokane. He has been married for over 30 years to Linda, and has three adult children. He earned his B.A. in English at the Master’s College, B.Ed. at Eastern Washington University, M.Div and D.Min in Expository Preaching at The Master’s Seminary. His other interests include NCAA basketball, woodworking, and art.
