Remember the Word of the Lord

The Psalmist gives us 3 motivations to be remembering God and His Word in our sojourning.

Sermon Notes

Big Idea: Remembering the Word of the LORD results in confident prayer, comfort in trials, and obedient love!

1. Remember God’s promises and confidently pray to Him!

Psalm 119:49
Remember the word to Your servant,
In which You have made me hope.

2. Remember God’s Salvation and be comforted in trials!

Psalm 119:50-52
This is my comfort in my affliction,
That Your word has revived me.
The arrogant utterly deride me,
Yet I do not turn aside from Your law.
I have remembered Your ordinances from of old, O Lord,
   And comfort myself.

3. Remember God Himself and obediently love Him!

Psalm 119:53-56
Burning indignation has seized me because of the wicked,
   Who forsake Your law.
Your statutes are my songs
In the house of my pilgrimage.
O Lord, I remember Your name in the night,
   And keep Your law.
This has become mine,
   That I observe Your precepts.
