Big idea: While living in two kingdoms, be sure to give God his due.

  1. The Refusal to Give God His Due
    1. Partnership with political and moral enemies
    2. Seeking to destroy Jesus
    3. Refusal to repent
    4. Fear of man rather than of God
    5. Hypocrisy and flattery
  2. The Call to Give God His Due
    1. Jesus sees through the schemes
    2. Jesus exposes the contradictions
    3. Give God what is due in all areas of life
      1. Give the State what it is due (Romans 13:1–7; 1 Peter 2:13–17)
      2. Give God what He is due (Psalm 24:1–2; Psalm 100)

Dr. Dan Jarms is teaching pastor and team leader at Faith Bible Church in Spokane Washington, as well as associate dean at TMS Spokane. He has been married for over 30 years to Linda, and has three adult children. He earned his B.A. in English at the Master’s College, B.Ed. at Eastern Washington University, M.Div and D.Min in Expository Preaching at The Master’s Seminary. His other interests include NCAA basketball, gardening, brick oven cooking.
