Main idea: Sing for joy – the Father has crushed the Son so that we could be His children. Jesus took all our sin – the pain, the sorrow, the sickness, the grief, the death, the sin itself, and the guilt… (...
Practicing Titus 2:3-5 – older women teaching younger women how to honor God in their homes and families – is the purpose of MomLife, which kicks off this year on September 24. The monthly in-home gatherings feature older moms sharing God’s Word and their experience, plus moms at all stages building each other up.
That’s a way MomLife has changed since the ministry included only moms with preschoolers. Lana Pustovit, who used to participate when her children were younger, returned last year.
Lana says it was different but still encouraging. She found herself answering questions from younger moms about how she handled technology, school systems, and other practical parenting challenges. She enjoyed the energy of interacting with younger women and discussing the Bible together.
“It’s great to get away from the normal busyness and gather around God’s Word with other ladies.”

And now young moms can benefit even more. Taylor A., who has 2-year-old and a 9-month-old sons, enjoyed MomLife last year with her group’s mentor mom, Michelle Sayers, and other older women in the church. She appreciated the focus on God’s Word and the teachings from the Psalms, complete with handouts to review at home with her kids.
Dealing with discipline and shepherding issues, Taylor was able to ask specific questions and get advice and encouragement from moms who had walked that path. “I was at the point where I didn’t know what to do, and (Michelle) affirmed, ‘You’re doing the right thing, just keep going in that direction, and maybe try this.’”

This year, all groups will be using video teachings from Kelli Dionne and Linda Jarms studying Jesus’ “I Am” statements in the gospel of John. Everyone at MomLife will draw encouragement from these Scriptures and each other.
If you’re new to MomLife or you previously left when your children entered school: All moms are welcome! MomLife is a great place for you to get to know people and make connections with other families even outside the monthly meetings. With only seven total meetings in the year, it’s a manageable commitment that opens up other opportunities for fellowship and discipleship.
What returning moms need to know: Leaders are working hard to develop MomLife groups that include all stages of parenthood, so that moms with younger children will be interacting with moms of older children about what comes next. Because of this, some moms may be assigned to groups that are not the closest group to their homes. Also, groups will be meeting during two time slots only, Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings. We appreciate your flexibility and openness to how God will use you at MomLife this year.
